Our history

What began in 1978 as an idea for an innovative material is now an international protection system that is used in over 40 countries. The development of our metal foam was researched for decades. In 2013, it was perfected and produced industrially for the first time. Since then, IMF has stood for technological progress, responsible applications and a material that protects life and infrastructure in equal measure. Our history is not a retrospective - it is the foundation for what we still have planned.

IMF AG is managed by an experienced Board of Directors, highly specialized teams and international experts. The technical management team led by Scientific Director Dirk Zielke plays a central role in this. As an experienced materials technician with a deep practical orientation, he shapes the technological direction of IMF AG together with the engineers and developers - precisely, application-oriented and with a view to real benefits.

He stands for a management style that takes responsibility seriously, makes targeted use of innovation and never loses sight of the people behind the technology. For him, progress is not an end in itself, but must have a concrete impact - on society, industry and the environment.
